A Chorus Line : L'affiche

Before reality came crashing down in 2020, I crafted this conceptual poster for "A Chorus Line." Although the show never came to fruition, I present to you this illustration representing what could have been.

The background, shaped from very simple stock photos, was adorned, colored, and amplified to showcase a palette of colors and textures, evoking the emotions that could have animated the stage. At the center, a top hat in golden sequins subtly symbolizes the extravagance and elegance of the performance.

The hand holding the hat is more than just an image; it's a simple reminder of theatrical values. An Afro-American hand embodies the inclusion and diversity that would have characterized the concept of "A Chorus Line." It serves as a reminder that, on stage, every story and artist has their place.

Even though the show never saw the light of day, this poster remains a glimpse of hope, a celebration of diversity, and a shared joy, ready to brighten the imagination of viewers, even if the curtains will never rise on this creation.
